Valley Seeds is an Australian owned national seed business that is transitioning into an exciting new investment phase. Our portfolio of products is bred and grown in Australia to meet the needs of our customers in our wide-ranging agricultural regions. We are building a process that puts our customers at the centre of everything we do. We are a small and growing supportive team looking for someone who is passionate about agriculture and excited about the opportunity to make a big impact on the way we participate in the pasture seed industry. We are seeking someone to join us on this journey with strong agronomy and sales skills who will value our customers and support our proven products with enthusiasm.

The opportunity: To develop and enhance Valley Seeds key customer and retail relationships. We want to be the first seed company customers think of when looking for the best products and advice to support farmers pasture and feed production needs. We need someone who can:

  • Develop a targeted and segmented territory plan that will make sure the Valley Seeds portfolio and pipeline products meet our customers’ needs.
  • Identify what we need to do to support our customers and assist them to grow their business.
  • Expand our network with farmers, farmer organisations, agronomists, and related industry organisations. We want this network to work closely with us and have the shared goal of continuous improvement in agriculture through seed technology,

genetics & pasture management.

  • Oversee the management of the Valley Seeds demonstration sites in conjunction with the Valley Seeds research and development team
  • Manage your region. We want to create an environment that lets you ‘own’ your part of the business, with support from the broader Valley Seeds team. Communication, encouragement, respect, and support for each other is what we strive for, and we want these qualities to shape our external relationships.

Introducing new products, and doing it well, is a primary focus for Valley Seeds. This means creating awareness, interpreting, and communicating trial data, and first experience of these new products.

• You will work closely with teams across the Valley Seeds business to identify product and market needs, making sure that we develop and execute phased launch plans from pre-launch, to the first year of product growth and through to large commercial volumes. This means being fully involved in the planning and the delivery of our launch plans.

  • Resourceful, you can find a way through the various challenges we and our customers face in agriculture
  • Proven track record in sales and agronomy
  • Have a tertiary qualification in agricultural science or a related field
