We’re excited to welcome our new Northern Victorian business manager Andrew Wood to the growing Valley Seeds family.
In Andrew’s own words “Change brings new skills” and being part of our invigorated new business was a big part of his decision to move to Valley Seeds. “Joining a close-knit team at Valley was also a drawcard” he says.
“I enjoy problem solving, so when I see or hear something in the field that needs improving or something tricky comes up in a conversation with a farmer, I like to assist with potential solutions when possible.”Andrew Wood
The significant recent capital investment into our R&D program also attracted Andrew to Valley. “There’s a lot of opportunity here and because we get to work directly with the research team and there aren’t lots of corporate layers, finding solutions for farmers can happen more efficiently.”
Andrew and his family recently moved from South Gippsland to 50 acres east of Wangaratta, Victoria. He comes to us with broad experience in the ag industry and an outstanding range of skills he put to work over the last few years, running his own part-time consulting business Redwood Ag Solutions.
A graduate of Ag Science (Melbourne University), Andrew has a deep knowledge of the dairy industry. He has had roles with Stockfeed, Fonterra, Lactalis and Lely robotic milking systems and while working as Milk Supply Commercial Manager with Lactalis, he started up an Agro supply business for their farmers from scratch – impressive!
Passionate about agriculture, Andrew is a big believer in “helping the farm work for itself, and getting the livestock do the work!” He’s looking forward to absorbing Valley Seeds’ expertise in seed and applying it in the field and not just with his customers. “Our new property needs a lot of pasture improvement” he says. “We have big plans for it, so I’m looking forward to putting Valley’s seed through its paces.”
And so are we Andrew! Welcome aboard and we’re so happy you’ve joined the Valley Seeds team.
If you have any questions or would like to connect with Andrew directly, please feel free to reach out to him.
