Asteroid is a unique Australian bred ryegrass variety designed to improve winter herbage yield and maintain long season production
- Bred and grown in Australia
Designed for local conditions with a unique cross of 50% annual and 50% Italian ryegrass, giving it the best characterises of the two species - Asteroid has the winter production of an annual with the later production of an Italian ryegrass
- Selected for increased nutrient efficiency to allow better growth under lower soil fertility
- It has the earliest heading date of the current Italian ryegrasses available on the market. This means it has excellent late winter/early spring growth before the season becomes too hot or dry in spring
- The Italian ryegrass background improves its recovery after heavy grazing
- Selected for faster emergence vigour to help with early sowing in unreliable autumn breaks
