Thank you to everybody who joined us at our virtual open days in November. Faced by the uncertainty that came with Covid-19. we took our popular annual open day online, with two webinars and three information videos.
Themes of planning & preparation
In deciding video and webinar topics we were guided by the questions asked by you during the year.
As a result, our videos and webinars focused on how farmers growing pasture for livestock, hay or silage can benefit from the challenges of an increasingly variable climate and tough Australian conditions.
Check out the videos for detailed information on:
- why it’s important to develop a plan
- how early to start your pasture plan (you might be surprised to hear how far in advance you should be putting pen to paper)
- what to consider when sowing – including moisture, temperature and a backup plan if the autumn break is late, or disappointing
- why you need to consider sowing multiple species to achieve your pasture goals.
Ryegrass insights
Whether you already have ryegrass in your pasture mix or not, our open day videos and webinars include some great insights about the benefits of ryegrasses and when to select an annual, italian, hybrid or perennial variety.
Thank you
Our virtual open day was a first for us – and we hope you enjoy the results. Thank you everybody in the Valley Seeds team who did such a great job of researching, scripting and speaking to camera (it’s harder than it looks!).
Special thanks to plant breeder Anthony Leddin and research agronomist Sarah McMaster, our Valley Seeds superstars!
Thanks to Alastair from ATAerial for doing a great job of filming & producing the videos.
